offbalance: (GA - trio)
[personal profile] offbalance
I've been getting migraines for a while now, and with every encounter with the searing, splitting, oppressive pain I had, I got a little bit more fed up. After a conversation (well, me whining, him insisting) [livejournal.com profile] infinitehippo directed me to a neurologist. I was a little worried about going, honestly. What if the headache wasn't just a headache? Still, I made an appointment, and I met with a lovely doctor, and I was very happy with what he had to tel me. Ironically enough, though, I had a migraine when I got to his office. Tis the season, I suppose. We're going to try a few things and see how I do and speak again in about 6 weeks.

That's pretty much the only thing of note. I watched all of my Monday shows (except Medium, which after a strong start has begun to annoy me as much as it did at the end of last season) and enjoyed all that Bones, Gossip Girl and HIMYM had to offer.

How I Met Your Mother: I loved watching Barney deal with his conscience, and the fact that he seemed to have one. The bro code. I loved how Ted elected to cockpunch him. And I kind of can't wait to see how this all plays out. Also? The fact that there's an actual written Bro Code? Genius.

Bones: Amusing. I kind of loved how Booth was the one comfortable with the baby initially and Brennan was awkward, but I really liked how attached she became to Andy. It was a good episode, the second without Sweets, and I couldn't be happier that he's gone. No, really. His character was annoying, the therapy pointless. I'm glad we're back to what's good.

Gossip Girl: Serena never seems to understand that if she would just tell Ultra Super Boyfriend the truth, all would be fine. I do kind of like her and Chuck bonding, though. I think they'll be interesting as siblings, at the very least. And I get to hate Michelle Trachtenberg as much as I want, so hey, bonus! Blair - you're deliciously evil, and I couldn't love you more. (I also loved how she immediately switched out of bitch mode when it appeared that Serena might be in trouble. Hooray for complexity!) Good on Rufus for acting like an actual parent.

And, most of all. Most importantly. Nate/Vanessa FOREVER. OMG. This is the first time Nate's actually been charming and interesting, and frankly, same with Vanessa. They're good together. I like this. I like it a lot. They have good spark and good banter, which I enjoy. I like how he seemed interested from the first minute she gave him a hard time, and more interested when she apologized for it. Less brood, more humor. Yes.
