further adventures in consumerism.

Braved the mall today to do a litlte christmas shopping. Wasn't too bad, but it wasn't a big barrel of fun. I thankfully wasn't accosted by any crazy women, but the sheer mass of people at King's Plaza today was fairly staggering. As was the money I spent.

Here's what I bought:
1 pair of sneakers from Lady Foot Locker : saved 30% with a coupon I got at work
Present for my mom at Lane Bryant - saved some money with coupon
presents for Suzanne and zyll - also, loving the coupons !
2 sweaters, a shirt, 3 pairs of silver earrings and 4 pairs of socks at NY & Co for ME! - and got another discount. Yes, I bought more sweaters. Felicity Porter has nothing on my collection. I suppose that when you're allergic to as many sweater materials as I am, chasing down any of the ones that don't bother you is a good thing.

Yessir, that's me. Sweet Irene, the discount queen, of Miami Florida.
(and only quasisonic and my friend Catherine got that reference. But that's okay.)

Dinner was fried chicken, hot wings and mac & cheese, and was sooo good. I am ready to explode.

Still a few more people to buy for, but that's what tomorrow will be all about. Jeff and I are hanging out tomorrow, and will probably end up doing some shopping as well. Which should be fun.

sleepy now. The parents want to watch the "Live from Bahgdad" movie on HBO tonight, and I have a few people I should probably try to call.

But first: It's looking more and more like Glenn Quinn is dead.

Also: these are SO brilliant.

My eye is being swollen, twitchy, and annoying all day. It has two more days (today and tomorrow) before I haul it into my eye doctor to be looked at.

and now to do other stuff...

...i had the "pessimism" desktopper for a loooong time -- until someone knocked it off my desk at work and it broke. le sigh. it rocked. good conversation starter, too.

thanks! I didn't realize that was an achievement. I usually just get shirts from there, as their pants are AWFUL. I had to wash the pair of jeans I got there 5 times before they stopped feeling like sandpaper. They have really nice jewelry though - have you ever seen my star necklace? I got it there.

I remember the pessimism thing. My dad said that he wishes he still had an office, because he would have gotten one of his own. I was actually considering getting 'cluelessness' or 'idiocy' for my new cubicle, but I think I might wait until I've been there longer.
