It's a double-shock kinda morning.

First (and worst) of all: Joe Strummer, the brilliant mind behind the Clash, has died! He was only 50. Gah! First Joey Ramone and now this. *shakes head*

Secondly, the woman I work with got me a christmas present! AA! I so wasn't expecting this! A bag of the Lindt Milk Chocolate Lindor truffles. (to say I love them is like saying I watch Buffy sometimes. geez!)So what do I do? I mean, I have a tape of the last new episode of Buffy that I had promised her, but still. :P Go me. May make a mad dash to Bath & Body works on 46th & Lex on my lunch hour out of sheer desperation, but dunno what a good idea that would be. Thoughts? PLEASE?

*sigh* Forgot to bring in a new box of tissues. doh. must not forget on thursday. Because I don't have work tomorrow or wednesday! Hurrah! (Although I have to confess that I keep forgetting why. >_< and is it just me, or was Christmas an extra bit of hassle this year over normal?)

I did get to wear my new coat this morning (that I bought at Annie Sez yesterday). It's a lovely black coat, very warm, fits me well, and means I don't have to wear The Giant Green Parka of Death and Doom whenever it dips below 40. So yay.

and off to work!

buy her some sort of chocolate or candy or fudge or other foodstuff that she likes. don't spend as much on her as she spent on you. there's actually etiquette guides for these occasions.

Who needs an ettiquette guide when I have you? ;)
But thanks. There's a great foodstuff store not too far from us, so I'll run and get something at lunchtime.

How was your trip? I'm hoping it was a smooth and uncomplicated journey.

any time! one of my favorite things to do is know weird, obscure, and helpful things. (and when i don't know them, kami or teresa nielsen hayden does!)

....the trip went remarkably well. it was just over 400 miles (despite what the AAA guide said), and if we hadn't stopped for a three hour nap, we would have done it in less than six hours. =)

whee! I'll remember that!

and I'm glad to hear the trip went so well (and easily). Naps of any variety are of top-level importance, so I think that stopping for them was a good idea, despite the slowdown it caused in your traveling.

Have fun, and Merry/Happy it all to you all if I don't get to speak to you again soon. :)
