YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS. I CAN NOT EVEN.
So, the stupid @*#&^@# blackberry curve I'd had for about 2 months (which was my second replacement, btw) broke again on Saturday. And in spectacular fashion, no less. Not only did the ball fall out again, but when I put it back in, it would only scroll in one horizontal direction. As in, I could scroll up, down, and left, but if I wanted to scroll to the right, I had to take the ball out and flip it around. I made do for a day or so, seeing as I had fifteen days left until my upgrade date, and I could wrap my digits around the beautiful Droid Incredible, which I've been drooling over since the damn thing came out.
The upgrade price I could get through Verizon was $150, but I figured it'd be less when I hit the two-year mark. I was visiting the folks yesterday, and my mom found two brochures in the Sunday papers (one from Target, one from Best Buy) that had the Incredible listed for $49.99 and FREE with a two-year activation, respectively. What.
So, my entire family encouraged me to call my good friends at Verizon, explain the situation, and see if something couldn't be done for me. Verizon, as I've come to expect, were absolute aces. The very nice woman I spoke to on the phone (after conferring with her supervisor) said that she could change my upgrade date to today, and that I would be free to go wherever I wanted to get my upgrade.
Half an hour in Best Buy later, I now have MY PRECIOUS (along with a case and a screen protector). I just. I can't...how did I survive so long with that terrible excuse for a smartphone? No, really. Someone explain this to me, because I don't even fucking know. And the incredible thing about the Incredible (you see what I did there) is that it's eerily like an iPhone. Like, kind of spookily similar. I got to play with it a little before the battery needed to be recharged all night, so I'll finish in the morning. BUT MY GOD. PHONEGASM.
And now....APPS! I have twitter and facebook and will be getting Angry Birds tomorrow. I also downloaded the Kindle App and nearly died - all of the books I've bought are there. I will never be short of something to read again. I also plan to hit this list hard for suggestions. Droid users, what's your favorite? I want to know!!
And now for pizza, which should be interesting given the giant smile wrapped around my head. I AM SO HAPPY. THERE ARE NOT WORDS.
