Bits, pieces, and other news.
So much to tell! This weekend was a giant blur, highlighted by parties, time spent with friends, finding out that the pizza at Tomato & Basil really is as good as I've heard, and walking a LOT. A genuine lot. I'm going to have to do that more often, even with the oncoming winter. I also helped
unsimilar break his curse and finally see The Departed on Sunday evening. I adored it and I recommend it to all. This week is a good week for movies, a lot of things are opening that I want to see, particularly Marie Antoinette (even if I have to see it myself), The Queen (which I'll be taking my mom to see at some point), and most importantly, The Prestige, which I know I'll be seeing very soon, most likely with
alcestis, and maybe others as well. They'll become quite accustomed to my face at the Cobble Hill Cinema, they will.
I updated Typewritten Teacup, finally.
Heroes was awesome last night, and thanks to some prodding friends, I've started watching (and enjoying) How I Met Your Mother. 90% of this enjoyment is directly caused by Neil Patrick Harris, who made me laugh out loud several times last night. The show is nothing new, but it will provide me with some low-key entertainment on the ipod for the time being. Something not too heavy that I can watch on my way out for the evening when I didn't feel like bringing a book with me. (Or couldn't fit one in my bag).
And now, here it is, today's sign of the apocalypse, courtesy of imdb.com:
Lost In Translation star Scarlett Johansson has signed a deal to make her first record, Scarlett Sings Tom Waits, according to media reports in the US. The album is being recorded at the moment and sessions will continue through the winter, with a possible release next spring from Rhino Records' currently re-activated Atco label. According to Fox News, the 21-year-old is recording a whole album of songs by premier singer/songwriter Waits. Sources says the eventual release date will be coordinated to coincide with Johansson's movie schedule.
The piano has not only been drinking, it's clearly lost its damn mind.
I really should update more often. Oh well.
