A text conversation with my dad about Torchwood: Children of Earth, about half an hour ago:

Dad: Watched Torchwood. Need a day before I can discuss it.

Me: Ok. I also recommend a scotch.

Dad: Maybe a quart or two.

Me: WE ARE DRINKING. WE ARE DRINKING.
