antheia was joking about Rob Zombie being festive this morning, but in truth, I haven't really been able to listen to too much christmas music either. Case in point - this morning's selection for subway travel was R.E.M.'s masterpiece Automatic for the People. I forgot how absolutely beautiful this album is - "Try not to Breathe" still gets me, so does "Drive," "Sweetness Follows," and even "Everybody Hurts," despite the fact that it got horrendously overplayed. Listening to "Nightswimming" and "Find the River" as the train sped over the Manhattan Bridge this morning almost brought tears to my eyes.
It's any number of things, really, how grey it is outside, or the time of year; spin the bloody wheel, really.

It's not that I'm depressed. My world isn't a dark room. It's more like I'm melancholic, with overtones of extensive self-examination and self-reflection. End of year, etc. Hmm...this is just the weather for it, I suppose. (and it's supposed to be 60 degrees today! the fuck?)

Hopefully, today at work will be fairly quiet, and I'll have time to write a nice long diaryland about things lately. (oh, and

quasisonic, yours was really sweet. Have you shown it to Suzy?)
