I never meant to cause you trouble...
Coldplay, where have you BEEN?
All those times I listened to Radiohead and thought to myself, "Now, if only they could ditch those delusions of Pink Floyd, they'd really be amazing." But yet, I ignored Parachutes when it first came out. I am now listening. And swooning at the goodness!! *happy sigh*
[Edit: Now, I know that sounds like I don't like Radiohead. And I do, very much . I just think that they've gone off the deep end since Ok Computer.]
Have also finished the new Nick Bantock book (Alexandria) that I got for Christmas. Bastard builds up all of this incredible suspense, and saves the denoumet for the next book. AAGH! But still, so good. So happy he found a way to do another series involving the style/characters of Griffin & Sabine without being trite or stupid.
so yes. It's been a grand christmas. Now I am stuffing LJ full of spam.

Found them completely at random. A listening station in the HMV on 86th that is now closed--just out of curiosity, I listened to their first cd, havning never heard of them in my life. After sampling a few songs, bought it on the spot. Haven't looked back.
Second album not as good as the first, but still decent songs. And genuinely interesting, not sounding canned and overmixed like most of the garbage out there.
Re:
And actually, I became seriously interested in them after hearing "In My Place" on the radio, and like the second album so far, though I have to agree that the first was better overall, while the second have tracks that are much better than others ("In My place" and "clocks" come to mind.
And I agree wholeheartedly with your entire Christmas music rant. Especially about "Have yourself a merry little christmas."
