Snow Problem.
Die, you stupid cold!! Argh!! My throat still hurts, and is really against swallowing food for some reason. Ugh. I've taken aspirin and am hoping for the best, as this is wholly unpleasant. *sigh*
Great Big Sea tonight with
quasisonic - and to clarify this morning, it's not that I didn't want to check out a new band and see a great venue, it's that I'm sick and cranky, and want to be in tip top form for Evan's party tomorrow night, and am worried I'm going to be another wreck, again. *sigh* Still, am going to call my doctor tomorrow to see if he wants to hold off my allergy shot a week because of this, and if so, I'll crawl back into my beddy bed and sleep until I can't anymore.
I also want a cheeseburger, but don't think that it's a good idea, what with the whole swallowing problem. *sigh*
I'm definitely going to the Agent Provocateur closeout sale at Henri Bendel at lunch today. (thanks to
blergeatkitty for the tip!) I'm not sure what I will buy, if anything, but it's sure as hell worth a look.
There's a writing group meeting next wednesday. Hopefully, I will be there, especially since it's in Brooklyn and all. *crosses fingers* Although I have some weird memory that I'm supposed to do something on the 24th. Am I?
Anyway, to work for me. I have to draft contracts like it's my job. Hey, wait a second....

21 years old at the time of the 9-11 attack on America -
But I wasn't in NYC at the time. I was upstate at my university, flipping the fuck out and calling/iming everyone I knew to see if they were okay. I was all but catatonic for days.
19 years old on the first day of Y2K -
and yelling at everyone that the new milennium didn't really start for another year.
17 years old when Princess Diana was killed in a car crash
I remember that. It was sad.
15 years old at the time of Oklahoma City bombing
This was horrible. There are just no other words to describe it.
14 years old when O. J. Simpson was charged with murder
I was a freshman in high school when the verdict was announced, and the whole building was at a standstill. I had a whole crowd around me, because I had a walkman, and repeated the verdict when they announced it over the radio. Everyone was worried about riots. It was crazy.
12 years old at the time of the 93 bombing of the World Trade Center - I remember sitting on my parents' bed with the tv on to the only channel that had a signal (Channel 2, since they have a transmitter on the Empire State building) reading an issue of Rolling Stone that had 10,000 Maniacs on the cover. The enormity of the situation didn't hit me.
10 years old when Operation Desert Storm began - I remember watching this on TV, while doing a project for school. It was weird, like an old Atari game.
9 years old during the fall of the Berlin Wall - I remember the films, and people explaining why this was a big deal. I also remember how every store in creation was selling chunks of the 'wall' that you could buy. I didn't.
5 years old when the space shuttle Challenger exploded. I was home sick from school that day. My dad is a big fan of all things space-related, and so I wanted to watch the shuttle take off, since he was always talking about NASA stuff wtih me. As the story goes, I turned to my mom after the explosion and said, "Mommy, that's not supposed to happen, is it?" I knew that the rockets were supposed to come off and burn up, but it still looked wrong to me. Later that night, my dad told me the story of Apollo 13 (using salt & pepper shakers as props) when I asked if anybody survived a space trip gone wrong.
3 years old when Apple introduced the Macintosh
And 2 years old when my dad brought home and sat me in front of an Apple IIe, my very first computer. It was love at first sight, even though that was the last Apple computer that ever entered our home.
3 years old during Sally Ride's travel in space - Don't really remember her, but I remember confusing her and Christa McAuliff around the time of Challenger, and thinking that she died.
a 1 year old when Pres. Reagan was shot by John Hinckley, Jr. - Do not remember this at all.
I was 4 months old when the New York Islanders won the 1980 Stanley Cup. I watched the game from the crook of my dad's arm, supposedly.
