I used to HATE my name, because I was the only one who had it, and I would have DIED if I could be one of the girls who had an initial after her name (the way all the Jessicas and Kristins and Laurens did). I was a strange kid, what can I say. Now, I really like my name, but it was fairly unusual. For a long time, most of the Sharons I met were in their 30s and 40s.
Hell, I thought about naming my daughter after one of my favorite literary characters, but I didn't think anyone would get a complex from being named Jane. Still, that's not tops on the list anyhow - Caroline is. I just like the way it sounds.

And the reason that cats don't mind is that we silly humans are unable to pronounce their true names in our limited language. Remember that story in Dream Country?
