The one I hate is when they staple a 100 page document and they leave it all crooked so it will never be straight /sigh

The one reason I see for leaving documents unstapled is if you'll want to look at several pages of the document at once (I find this comes up a lot by me) - but it doesn't sound like much like the case by you.
