That song came out the year my middle school Gifted And Talented program went to Pennsylvania for a week, a trip which included Lancaster/Amish Country. I am very proud of 13-year-old us that none of us actually sang that song to any of the actual Amish (or Mennonite) people we encountered (AFAIK). Though we definitely sang it amongst ourselves.
