The Kiernan has Spoken.
I usually follow the weather like it's my job during beach season, so I knew that I had a nice day to look forward to. However, it came as a pleasant surprise to hear Pat Kiernan say, after delivering the forecast, "Looks like Saturday is going to be a perfect beach day!"
Heh. Damn straight. If you need me, I can be found on Beach 193rd street, in Breezy Point.

redesigner was lovely last night, but neither of us were particularly impressed by our Restaurant Week dinner at Grayz. It was neither particularly bad nor particularly good, and the same could be said for the service. My favorite part of the meal honestly was my cocktail, a mix of cucumber, mint, and gin called The Badminton Cup. That, I might return for, but otherwise? Eh. Afterward, we found a pleasantly cheap, amusingly tacky, and all-around-nice bar-type place on restaurant row that features $5 cocktails during weeknight happy hour (which ends at 8). SCORE. Granted, I only had one, but I think we shall be making a return trip. (Yes?) It was like being in Disneyland, but the staff and atmosphere were so nice, I really liked it. In fact, they were nicer than the staff at Grayz!
I have my con tickets. ::BOUNCE:: Am very excited. (Damn, that shit is expensive, though!) Didn't go for the Kate Mulgrew photo op, not sure if that was a mistake. If it was, I'm sure it can be easily rectified - I have no doubt that the con promoters are eager to separate you from your money at every turn. But we did get the general admission tickets for the the Philharmonic presentation of "The Music of Star Trek" at the gala, which I think is going to be really neat.
Also? What the shit is up with moving Swingtown to Friday night? I got home just in time last night, and was looking forward to another installment of that craziness, but I was denied. DENIED!! I didn't watch Flashpoint out of protest.
But Mad Men premieres on SUNDAY. I am SO excited. I have been trying to avoid spoilers (except for one, since I cracked and begged J to tell me what he knew about what happened to Peggy, so). Have I mentioned how awesome it is to be dating someone who enjoys the same TV that I do? Because it is.
And now, a few more hours and then I'm off to the beach!
