Veronica Mars & Tuesday Adventures.
Work has been at exactly the pace I like all day. I was cruising along until about 20 minutes ago, when my brain just stalled. Seriously, I can't even concentrate anymore. I'm taking this as a sign to not to too much more drafting, especially since I have to leave in about half an hour anyway.
Yesterday I introduced
leopard_lady to my friend Meg. We hit Halloween Adventure (Meg got a costume, Jill got lots of ideas) and then hit the Bon Vivant for dinner, as we were all starving after braving costumeland. Good times.
Okay, I'm really not loving how the strife between Logan and Veronica:
1. seems to have materialized out of nowhere
And
2. Seems completely reasonable, inevitable, and logical for the characters.
I know it's difficult, but I know, like Veronica does, that Logan isn't a complete and total fuckup, and is actually capable of not being one. Still, if a Logan!Veronica! fight leads to makeups like they had last night, then I'm mostly cool. Logan making his puppy dog contrite face is almost more than I can handle.
Speaking of things I almost can't handle, there's Weevil. Oh, Eli. You break my heart. I was especially sad that he's not going to be a regular part of Mars Investigations. I was loving the whole Keith and Weevil: THEY FIGHT CRIME! dynamic, but alas, it was not to be. I hope they go the Good Will Hunting route with Weevil now that he'll be Janitor Extraordinaire at Hearst. I don't get why he can't still work at his Uncle's garage, though - he has the training, he's obviously great at it. Maybe it's a parole thing, since he's family? That bugged me a little bit. I hope they explain that somehow at some point. But good on Veronica for being his champion - he's certainly come through for her enough times. I still love their dynamic. I hope he gets some of his confidence back.
Storyline - blah blah boring blah. I know we have to wait until November or December for the good stuff (as per historical record), but I'm doing my best to be patient with this new crop of background characters. I had no idea how much I missed some of the old recurrings until Logan brought one up:
"To Dick, one minute is like five. Just ask Madison Sinclair." hee.
Also, I kind of love how they're using Dick right now, but I want to know more about what happened in "Welcome Wagon." I know we'll find out soon enough, but c'mon, Rob Thomas! Throw us a freaking bone here!
Making out in the library? On campus gambling den so a character can have A Gambling Problem? Cliche, party of two? Maybe it's because I went to a state school, but wtf is up with that whole betting parlor? It was way too obvious not to get busted. Most of the gambling at my school was very much on the down low - and not a budget version of a Vegas casino. (Speaking of which, who else thinks that Logan and Mason and Dick were on their way to that city instead of Mexico? Show of hands?)
And finally, I still would like Pez Dispenser to die a violent, horrible death. He'd make for a great mystery. Please, please, Mr. Thomas, let him be the victim of a grisly murder! Die, Piz! Die! I don't care how you leave, just DO IT.

I'd originally thought the Weevil/Keith thing was going to build up before Weevil screwed up, but it was fine how it was.
Also, the Big Lebowski reference was awesome.

I suppose you're right about Weevil screwing up being inevitable, but I still wanted it to work out.
I thought you'd enjoy that.
(your icon cracks me up every time.)

There are still a ton of loose ends with Fitzpatricks, Rapes, Casablancas... Lots of different ways to go.
Thanks!

I don't think the Donut will be coming back, though.
I'm expecting the Fitzpatricks to come back, and for it to tie in with the Casablancas family some how - mainly because of the Phoenix Corporation. Could that be the money that Liam and Cormac were talking about, or was that the old bust that landed him in jail?

I really have no idea where that whole thing is going. They probably didn't originally think the two families would tie together in the end, but it'd solve and finish a lot of the season two stuff.
