System Overload
Dec. 9th, 2002 12:27 pmAAAAH! Orientation was half an hour shorter due to the woman who was supposed to explain all of the IMPORTANT stuff to us being out. So she will schedule individual sessions with us. Which is good, as I have a giant box o'paper to browse through. .__. eep.
Now I'm back at my desk, getting hungrier by the minute and trying to do many of the things that my actual 'job' now requires. My brain is trying to process and remember all of this data, and is acting slower than Windows 3.1 in a 386! AAAH! (And I forgot to bring in that stupid pad I was planning to bring in to write everything down in.)
Oh, and we got invites to the holiday party, and we're allowed one guest each. And it's going to be a HUGE thing at this big club, with the entire parent company, our company, et.al. I heard someone say something about a couple of thousand people. Another grand reminder of how life as a singleton pretty much sucks. No date on national holidays or for office functions. *sigh*
( a bit more whinging on that subject... )
But anyway, work. I went Christmas shopping yesterday and got a few more things for some people, among them
angelicillusion, Raskin, Jeff, and my dad. Jeff and I had the usual really good time we always have, I successfully managed to pick the most overpriced restaurant in a 20-block radius *shakes head* and avoided Sephora. ;)
(and in more fun news, big thanks to
dotsomething for her reccomendation of the Birds of Prey trade pb. I haven't read all of it, but what I *have* read is really great.)
Anywho, I should really get back to work. Yeah.
