offbalance: (mm serious as german film)

Posted especially for [livejournal.com profile] shackledangel, [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic, [livejournal.com profile] redstapler, [livejournal.com profile] killerweasel, and all other appreciators of fine fanvids. I lol'ed many times, and I don't even watch all that much anime.

This week has blown large chunks. And I don't really wanna talk about it. I kind of just want to get through tomorrow so I can go somewhere and drink heavily.

There comes a point where you become so busy, you don't even remember what the lower busy setting was like. 0.o

In lieu of an update, I give you (courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] redstapler):

John Barrowman. In shiny pants. Dancing. To Beyonce:

I posted this in a comment thread on [livejournal.com profile] sf_drama (ahh, Vegan wank!), but I thought that it deserved a repost here. I first discovered this amazing musical creation back in college when [livejournal.com profile] zyll sent me an MP3 of it. When I loaded the new ipod, somehow the MP3-gathering capabilities of the new Itunes unearthed this classic, and I heard it again, and there were mighty lulz.

However, I hadn't seen the video until today. Heh. Enjoy!!

McCain gets Barrack-rolled. It's amazing. You need to watch this ASAP. (especially if you happen to be [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty, but everyone in general).

Millions upon millions of thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] arikatt for posting this. I didn't think it was possible for me to laugh this hard this early in the morning, but I damn near snarfed my entire bowl of Go Lean Crunch.

In other political funnies, I've been trying to find information about the primaries in my polling district, but I couldn't find any information. So I just walked down there this morning, and found out why. It's because there is no primary in my district!!! Silly rabbit. Still, if you have a primary today, go and Vote!

(also, very happy birthday wishes going out to the awesome Ms. [livejournal.com profile] laughingirl!!!)

Just when I think that this is the funniest thing I've possibly ever seen,

I find this.

I could also be punchy for being up far too late, but I got about 12 hours of migraine-killing-drug-induced sleep, so I'm wide awake.

Weekend was good, but crazy.

Through one of my many sources, I discovered that Crumpler, purveyors of fine messenger/laptop bags, will be hosting their annual Beer For Bags event again starting on June 9. Basically, they have a list of bags that you can obtain by bringing them a case of the requested beer. In exchange, you not only get a bag, but an invitation to a party to drink the beer. Their ideas intrigued me, and I intend to subscribe to their newsletter. And since this seemed like fun, I passed it on to a few people via email whom I thought would be interested. One of those people was Puck, who seemed sort of perplexed by the entire thing. He claimed to be having a "Spock-like" reaction to the event, and when I asked him to clarify, he offered the following exchange:

"So Captain, the point of this exercise in which you purchase beer, which is heavy, and transport it to the predetermined location at your own expense to be exchanged for a personal conveyance device, is that the "bag" has a potential chance of exceeding the initial value of the beer traded for it?"
"Mr. Spock, you're missing the point. It's fun!"
"Captain, one might match that value by drinking the beer in the first place while it is still cold."

(Depending on the price I can find for a case of Grolsch, I may try and get myself one of these.)

EDIT: According to [livejournal.com profile] valjean615, "That link is for 2007. I went to the Crumpler store last week and the staff person said that Beer For Bags would not be happening this year because the owners would not be able to make the trip from Australia, as they have the past 2 years. She did say that there would be some other type of promotion during the summer, but said the details were being worked out." I am a SAD PANDA.

Otherwise, I'm going to spend today trying to figure out what I'm going to do with myself tomorrow. It's supposed a nice day, and I'd prefer to spend a portion of it outside, possibly walking, reading, or writing. I'm just trying to decide if I should do this in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Brooklyn is very tempting - Prospect park is across the way, after all. Hrm. Any suggestions? Part of me kind of wants to do a little bit of shopping (I find myself in need of short-sleeved, work-appropriate shirts) but I mostly just want some time wandering around to clear my head.
