Important things of note:

1. There is nothing better than a well-made cup of tea when you really want one.

2. It's [livejournal.com profile] lauramhepp's birthday!! She may not be on LJ anymore, but she's still in our hearts. Happy bday, Laura!!

3. I'm hoping my Time Out arrives er, on time this week. [livejournal.com profile] j_bkl has a friend visiting and I'm going to be playing co-tour-guide on Saturday. I'm hoping that A)it doesn't rain, and B) he doesn't want to do too much "touristy" crap.

4. I'm making my maiden Trader Joe's Brooklyn voyage tonight. Am hoping for success.

Otherwise, not too much to report. Am enjoying a low-key week.

For the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and all that is parmigiana, why, why, WHY have I had, "If I had a hammer" stuck in my head FOR TWO STRAIGHT DAYS NOW?! It's not fair. Somehow, some lame-ass song will be mentioned, suggested, or sung in my presence and I'll be dealing with its ill-effects for days. Days.

GAH.

(At least it wasn't "I've been working on the railroad," which for some bizarre reason was being sung at the Brick the other night. At least not yet. Oh, dear.)

And how was your day? Today I drafted many, many amendments, bought Echo #6, went to the post office and ate a salad. And dealt with an evil, evil song stuck in my head.

You know, one of these days I may actually learn to take things at face value and allow myself some time to process what's actually going on before I have a massive panic attack of bizarre worst-case scenarios that hold less water than a collander. *sigh*

AND HOW ARE YOU TODAY?

(I get to see The Dark Knight later! Whee!)

I can't think of a time of my life when "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies didn't put a huge smile on my face.

I keep trying, but I can't come up with one.

My day would be greatly improved with the addition of a cocktail and a massage.

Alas, as I am unlikely to get either anytime soon, I need to just keep swimming.

It's grey, wet and damp outside.

It's cold and damp in the office.

The work keeps piling up.

It's still not Friday.

So, naturally, I pretty much want to marry this lovely cup of tea that I made for myself.

Is today not a good day for you? Feel like sucker punching people? Sick and tired of everything?

Watch the above video. It will make everything better.

[livejournal.com profile] offbalance: As if I don't have enough to deal with every day, someone at work keeps emailing me in 12pt Comic Sans.
[livejournal.com profile] antheia: that's below the belt.
[livejournal.com profile] offbalance: it's just not fair. and bright blue! Diid I mention its bright BLUE?
 [livejournal.com profile] antheia: ...
  of course it is.
[livejournal.com profile] offbalance: I just...it's friday. There shouldn't be bright blue 12-pt Comic sans on a friday. That's what mondays are for.

I've had it. I hate New York. I hate urban areas, public transportation, all of it. I'm going to move to a cabin in the Adirondacks and become a vegetarian, living only on nuts and berries.

April Fucking Fool! As IF.

Many, many thanks are in order to those who made it out to The Gate last night, it was truly a spectacular evening, and what I hope will be the first of many spent on that lovely patio.

I just had exactly 8 hours of sleep. Which is bizarre. I got home a little after 11:15, because a B75 pulled up as I started to walk home. That sort of thing never happens, so you can imagine precisely how elated I was. So I watched an episode of Weeds, spoke to [livejournal.com profile] vbpal about our plans today, and then turned off my light at almost exactly 12. I then woke up at 8. Weird. But I feel completely rested.

Now I'm going to shower and head towards the library, then meet up with Evan. Hopefully this nice weather isn't some kind of April fool, either.
