ain't that a kick in the head.
Feb. 11th, 2003 09:15 amSo I'm standing on the Q train at DeKalb, waiting for a couple of Brooklyn Tech kids to gather their shit and get off the train, so I can take the seat they were taking up. All of a sudden, this jackass (who was knocking me off balance from the moment he pushed past me at Church Ave and insisted on using the arm that would mash into my head to hold on to the pole, rather than the arm that wouldn't) plows off the train, into me and this other woman, who was trying to take another open seat. The problem? The other woman threw her arm up to try and keep her balance, and broke my fall forward by knocking me between the eyes with her forearm.
In a word? OW.
She was really nice, and very apologetic (and I sure as hell got my seat). I'm just glad I wore my glasses today and that my face doesn't bruise. :P It certainly fucking hurts, and the woman was wearing a VERY puffy shearling coat.
I am also finding myself using the voices of the actors from the LOTR movies in my head to narrate Return of the King, which is making it far more interesting. Urm. Yeah.
New Buffy tonight! (a reminder to the more forgetful fans out there.)
I also discovered that BAM will be doing a 9-movie series of Oscar-winning films set in New York, including some Chaplin shorts, Annie Hall, All about Eve, The Apartment, On the Waterfront, The Lost Weekend and The Godfather!! All on the big screen! I am SO there. Seeing The Pink Panther this weekend reminded me of how much I enjoy seeing classic films as they were meant to be seen. :)
