New theme!
Aug. 28th, 2003 10:09 amPaid Membership has its privledges. I'm trying out the new 'boxer' mood theme, and I like it so far. (my color scheme? It's called precious. Yeah.) If anyone could explain to me how to make the text appear a couple of shades darker, you will be my hero for the day. (nevermind! I figured it out all by myself!)
The reason I love being on the dictionary.com word of the day feed is learning cool new words like ( this )
The cruise was okay. I had a pretty good time, but the water was very rough (everyone was gettign thrown around like dolls) and it was really warm on the boat, which had little space that was open air. :P (the hell? that's the point of being out on the water on a night like last night). Plus, I was ready to leave at 9:30 - we docked at 10:30, and I didn't get home til midnight, thanks to our lovely subway system. As a result, I'm very tired. But I did meet some interesting people, and had a great talk about writing and the media and all that with one of Gyda's friends, so that was pretty cool. The conversation naturally shifted towards politics, and Gyda was talking up Howard Dean to me and has piqued my interest in him.
( an uncharacteristically political tangent )
And ee! Jeff just called me to inform me that he has procured tickets for the 8:15 showing of Seven Samurai tomorrow. Sweet! We didn't want to take any chances after not getting to see the Bull Durham screening they did in the spring. It's true that Kirosawa & Mifune won't actually be at this screening, but we didn't want to take any chances.
Tonight are the VMAs. Yes, I'm watching. It's amazing how a channel that has become as bland as MTV has can still put on an eventful and watchable and fun awards show. And they're going to be doing the pre-show at Rock Center! Heh.
Still, I need a night to sleep. OMG sleeeeep.
Why isn't corporate naptime catching on? I mean, really. *dozes*
