A real update later, I promise, if I have time. In the meantime, a million thank yous to [livejournal.com profile] antheia for Coupling. I nearly died from the laughing, and I'm only 2 episodes in!

Boss T appears at my desk, holding a sheet of paper

Boss T: [reading off of the paper] Good Morning Starshine?

Me: The earth says hello?

We continue to discuss licensing rights of certain songs. I point out to him that "Me and Bobby McGee" was written by Kris Kristoferson for Janis Joplin, and that Janis did not write the song herself. He seems impressed that I know this.

Boss T: Some of the songs on this list were made into picture books, but I'm not sure about some of the others.

Me: I can't really see them turning "Me & Bobby McGee" or "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" into a children's picture book.

Boss T: Well, they *did* turn a few Jerry Garcia songs into kids books.

Me: I doubt that "Casey Jones"* was among them.

Boss T: [cracks up laughing] or Terrapin Station!! *starts to quietly sing what I guess is that song*

*for those of you who are not familiar with this song, it begins "Drivin' that train/high on cocaine." Imus plays it whenever they arrest an MTA motorman for DUI on the job. Great for the kids, right? .
