offbalance: (my gift is my song)
I'm being an industrious worker bee this morning, but there's always room for a meme! And Jello.

Music meme, gacked from [livejournal.com profile] dazz

1) Using band names, spell out your first name:
Soul Coughing
Hole
Abba
R.E.M
Outkast
New Order

2) Have you ever had a song written about you?: Not technically. A few feel like they have been, but maybe someday there will be a real one, a lovely one, written about me.

3) What song makes you cry?: A few: "Hey Jupiter" - Tori Amos, "Strange" - Tori Amos, "Konstantine" - Something Corporate, "Winner takes it All" - Abba, "The Boxer" - Simon & Garfunkel, plus a bunch more I'm not thinking of.

4) What song makes you happy?: "Mamma Mia" - ABBA, "Big Time Sensuality" - Bjork, "Sir Duke", "Higher Ground," "I was made to love her," and "My Cherie Amour"- Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue's entire Fever album is prozac.

5) What do you like to listen to before bed?: Anything good, really, lately it's been piano-heavy - Tori and Joe Jackson and such.

6) Name a song by Coal Chamber: I would, but I have no idea who they are.

7) Who was/were your idol(s) when you were younger?: I had a huuuuuuuuge thing for Bono. Monumental. Still think he's great, but he's a wee bit worn-out looking these days. Tori Amos was a biggie. Hard to remember, I can be quite fickle.

8) First album you ever bought?: The first tape was Primitive Love by Miami Sound Machine. The first cds were Bangles' Greatest Hits and R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People.

9) Name a song that reminds you of someone and why: Hm. There are too many to name here. Sometimes songs remind me of memories that haven't happened yet.

I have been entering contracts into the pdf database all day long. Now the folder on the general server where the contracts have scanned to will no longer let me take contracts from there. Which really concerns me very little. I've done a LOT today, and no one can dispute that. *wheeze* So I may just allow myself a little silly time before heading over to the gym at 5. Oh yeah.

And it's so fucking GOREGOUS out today!!! *loves spring*

Anyway, in the spirit of proper posting, I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Friday. I really liked it. It was a fascinating series of vignettes, the effects were well done and the cinematography was impressive. I think I need to see it again, though, because there were a lot of things in the timeline that confused me somewhat. But I loved the supporting cast - Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, and Kirsten Dunst were all terrific. I also would really love to see Montauk one of these days, it's not like I live that far away. I could take a train!

Before the movie [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic, our friend Amy and I all went shopping. After dissappointing turns in the Gap and Ann Taylor Loft (wow, shopping is SO much better around my office...), and discovering a Payless on 17th and 1st avenue that had women's sizes up to 10, we all ended up in Aerosoles and bought the same pair of shoes in different colors. The sandal is called 'ringaling' and will leave you asking, "Dollyanna Who?" I got them in black, as the multicolored options did not flatter my skin tone, but the black looked fabulous. And they FEEL fabulous, too! I have a feeling that once I break these bad boys in, we're going to be together quite often. I'm seriously contemplating getting the white as well, but first I have to do a massive shoe inventory/reorganization in my closet.

This week promises to be full of great fun and adventure. Tomorrow night, is a writing group meeting I hope to attend. Thursday I will hopefully be seeing a movie with [livejournal.com profile] squiddeh. Friday is whtegrlwthehairCatherine's birthday, Saturday is dinner with [livejournal.com profile] teany and [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty, and Sunday is belly dancing! Crazy craziness!

So I'd better get going. I'd like to get some more sleep tonight, if I can. *yawn* 1am is just too late to go to sleep.
