Thanks to the lovely & talented
antheia for my two shiny new Garden State icons. You can see the whole lot in her icon journal,
antheiart.
I was going to use the nice one of Large & Sam's Mom hugging, but now I must switch to my new WTF icon of Sam, because courtesy of my favorite department, I just had to send the email equivalent of a big shoepolish sign that said, "I assure you, we're open," in response to their impression of the Simpson children's rendition of "Are we there yet?" *facepalm*
Belly dancing started up again yesterday, and I hope that by sometime next week I'll have regained full use of my extremities. Wow. I had no idea that one could become quite so out of shape in a few short months, but damn. *sore*
Am trying to plow through Dune, but the goings are slow. I think Kavalier & Clay spoiled me somewhat - that book was so shiny compared to this one. It's a bit political and dry right now, but I think I just have to get to page 200 (where 'Book II' starts in my copy), at which point I'm sure life will begin to get interesting. I have two weeks from today to finish this, which is entirely doable if I stop slacking.
And in one final comment about my weekend, Chuck E. Cheese was entirely memorable in every sense of the term, cupcakes are always worth it, and if you have an opportunity to try either a bar on Atlantic Ave called The Brazen Head or an arcade game that features an actual moving jetski called Wave Runner, you absolutely must. Oh, and Saturday is notable in that despite being up for a 2-hour stretch around 10am, I literally slept all day. From 11:30 to 5:30. Sometimes I amaze even myself.
