*cough*

offbalance: (CB xmas)
I almost stayed home today with my cold, but dragged my sorry carcass in to work anyway for reasons I can't even fathom. Well, I can fathom them - I've gotten a disgustingly large portion of scanning that needs to be done (let me put it this way, folks - I've so far done 2 batches of 15 and I still have miles to go before I sleep). Plus, there were other things that popped up today that were just better for my having been here, so it's not so bad. I will be dragging same carcass home directly after work to rest. Hate that I'm missing Blerg cookies at [livejournal.com profile] movieoke, but I need my bed. Might use the time to get my holiday cards in the mail (promise I won't lick the envelopes!), and to give Carly a call - we've been playing phone tag since Thanksgiving.

Like my new icon? I wanted something more Christmas-y than my shot of central park. And a nice lady on the [livejournal.com profile] cooking community was nice enough to share this one. I've also discovered that I can basically recite A Charlie Brown Christmas from memory along with the show itself. Still, I don't know it well enough to movieoke a scene sans subtitiles, which the dvd version contains (I have it on VHS, sadly). Hm. May have to make a point of renting that for next week.

I have 2 days off I have to spend. (I had 3, but then I remembered that I needed to take December 31 off. In order to party all night, one must sleep all day.) I've planned on splitting one of the 2 into half days. So far I'm pretty set on a half day this Friday (to do my Christmas shopping, ho ho freaking ho), a day off Monday (long weekends are the best!) and a half day next thursday (so I can be all good and rested for all the things going on for me the 17th.) There was little point in taking any time the following week - I have the 23rd AND the 24th off, so there's going to be a nightmare of year-end things to get done beforehand. Hm. I'm really liking that plan.

Now I have tea and even more contracts to enter into the database. Yaye.
