If it sucks, it must be Thursday.
Mar. 2nd, 2006 09:17 amHappy Belated Birthday to
kaytee4ever!! ::throws glitter and confetti::
Also, happy birthday to
drrandom!!
This week is in the running for the shittiest ever. Work has been nuts. Other stuff has been sucking. And, to cap it off, this morning, I was woken up at just a sliver after 5 by a calf cramp of doom.
Now, I'm neither a stranger to cramps nor a baby when it comes to pain. But it's not exactly a massage when your ENTIRE calf muscle swells into a rock in a few seconds, pressing on the nerves and doing whatever else causes searing pain. And the damn thing wouldn't go away. It did eventually, or else I wouldn't be here at work. (Um, yaye?) But the muscles are still sore, and the stress of it all made me extra tired (I was tired to begin with from being up late talking to
blergeatkitty on gmail chat, but no regrets there. At all.)
I shouldn't complain all that much - after all, Boss T did surprise me with a most splendiferous gift yesterday : WE'RE GETTING A TEMP. GLORY GLORY HALLELUJAH. There's a large backlog of filing and extremely dull admin crap to do, and he's getting a temp to do it. Oh happy day. :)
Other things of happiness:
1. I am reading at Barbes (376 9th Street at 6th Avenue in Brooklyn) this Sunday at 6pm. (Please note that Barbes is easily accessible by the F and R trains.)
2. In 16 days, I will be in Las Vegas. With
zyll. Aw yeah.
3. That I have people in my life like
quasisonic, Carly,
vbpal,
angelicillusion,
blergeatkitty and
squiddeh. All of my friends are exceptional and awesome, but they deserve particular shout-outs this week for going above and beyond and listening to more than their fair share of my griping without any complaint whatsoever.
quasisonic was also amazingly helpful this morning as I was near-crosseyed with pain.
I suppose my birthday should be include in the happy thought list, but it's not really giving me a huge happy this year. I'm past the point of getting excited at the prospect of being another year older, and even though I get a holiday devoted to me out of the deal, I'm not really pleased about being that much closer to 30. I don't know - maybe 26 will be better than 25 was. One can only hope.
