I've acquired a fair amount of new music lately, and I have to say that my absolute single favorite is this collection of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos by Philharmonia Virtuosi. The music is absolutely lovely. I can't say I know much about classical music, but this is as warm and soothing as a cup of tea on a chilly, rainy afternoon.
Coming in at a close second is Marry Me, by St. Vincent. New Orleans Girl recommended her to me by telling me that "she's sort of a combination of Regina Spektor and Bjork, with some other people like them mixed in." There's also a very light, dreamlike quality to St. Vincent that I've been enjoying - it's kind of reminiscent of the band Alpha, whom I've liked every since I heard them on the soundtrack to one of my favorite movies, My Life Without Me.
Other than that, work was insane, and I really need to start making myself go to bed earlier. It never works out that way for some reason, though. I wish I knew why.
