A Winnar is me!
Aug. 31st, 2007 09:09 pmAs much as I carp and bitch about how I never win anything, how all contests are fixed and all that twaddle, I must admit that that's not always true.
A little background - back during the regular season of Supernatural, Verizon Wireless was running a sweepstakes. Text a word to the number they give you, and you would be eligible for any number of prizes. A grand prize was a cross-country road trip on Route 66 with friends, and I really wasn't sure what the other prizes were. But I'm a sucker for contests, so I texted in a few times, just for the hell of it, and thought nothing more of it.
After I arrived at the beach club today, I noticed I had a voicemail. The message was to inform me that thanks to this contest, I am now the proud owner of a Season 1 dvd set of Supernatural. I've been meaning to buy S1 for ages, but never quite got around to it. Now? I don't have to. Plus? Winning a contest is always a good way to start off a weekend.
I celebrated with the best fried chicken I've had in forever, and am now going to curl up with my laptop and some new ideas I got while swimming this afternoon.
