offbalance: (record)
Been an odd/ busy week, so lemme summup:

1. I have become completely and utterly obsessed with the song "Brilliant Mistake" by Elvis Costello. Thankfully, a very nice person has hooked me up with the album King of America, which rocks more than I can put into words. Seriously.

2. I've seen a bunch of J this week, as well as a big bunch of [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty. I like it when that happens. Especially in random ways, like when J and I ran into Blerg on our way to dinner near her house and she wound up coming with. That was fun. I'm seeing J again tonight after Item #6, then again tomorrow, then Saturday. :D Whee!

3. My throat is doing mean, scratchy things that I do not approve of. ><

4. I have tomorrow and Monday off. \o/

5. (Seekrit message to [livejournal.com profile] firynze: I have an anti-weasel mallet for you, if you want it.)

6. Tonight I have an information session for something that I hope will make a positive difference in my life, and not be a pricey waste of time. We shall see. Details as they become available.

7. This is directly in the neighborhood where I grew up. No, really. I could easily walk there. It's so bizarre. I plan on following it closely - the more details come out, the more odd (in addition to sad and tragic) this whole thing becomes.

8. I forget what eight is for.

9. I'm consistently amazed at how easy it is to buy simple items at the drugstore (shoe insoles, toothpaste, q-tips, throat spray, etc.) and have it wind up being so damn expensive. If only I had time to hit the nice Rite Aid on 8th avenue - I should start doing that. It's the nicest one in the city (that I've seen), and they're a bit cheaper than CVS. (Duane Reade didn't have what I needed.)

10. I know I did lots of stuff this week. How can a week be both fast and slow? I think a physicist should study workplace temporal mechanics. I think the results would be fascinating.
