I'd heard that the organizer of the reunion also had gotten food poisoning, so I wrote to her once I'd felt a little better. She'd said it wasn't food poisoning at all, but she was sick from a stomach virus that is apparently going around (and that a few people at my work had). So it could have easily been that. Except, certain symptoms felt more like food poisoning. And there's the part where I had a VICIOUS stomach virus last year, and I was down for a week, and not just 72 hours. Plus, when I had that, I had a high fever (hitting 102 at least twice, mostly in the 101 range), chills, and other delightful symptoms the entire time (and there was also the cold I had at the same time. That was AWESOME). This time? Fever barely cracked 100. So, either this was a milder virus, or I was right. Without getting into details about specific symptoms, this felt like I ate something and my stomach said "Nay, nay!" It had a relatively short incubation period, hit like a train, and though I am feeling a few after-effects, is mostly gone now. As this was not my first trip to the rodeo even this year (oh hai, father's day!), I'm pretty sure I knew what I was dealing with. It's still weird that it was only me.

Ugh. See, this is why I go to the doctor. The whole lack of ability to put a name to whatever it is that is causing my generalized ick is why people pay big bucks to the people in the white coats.

Either way, I'm on yet another day of my limited diet. Blah.
