oy (Belated Episode II ranting)

offbalanceOkay, so today I woke up at 1:18pm, after going to bed around 12:30am. So if I got so much good sleep, then why in the hell am I so goddamned groggy? Blah.
Now everyone is running around doing normal afternoony stuff, and my body is still set on 'morning.' Bleh.
Raskin and I went to go and see Episode II last night, because he believed that I really needed to see it. Whatever. So we went, and it was SO BAD. I was laughing during most of it. Yoda was one of the best actors in the whole thing, and every time Ewan McGregor would lecture Whineakin about not giving into his emotions I'd say, "But All you need is love!" Seriously. Great visuals, but the dialouge was so bad I kept wishing they'd have filmed this as a silent, with those little dialouge cards in between scenes. What bugs me most is that it was a pretty cool premise, but it was executed so badly that the premise was washed away. They should have brought Princess Leia in for a re-write.
And WHERE did they find this hayden christiansen kid? He's awful! Jeez, the cast of Dawson's creek could have done a better job with this hunk of junk than he did. I shouted "acting classes!" when he said "I'd do anything you asked of me!" at one point.
However, I figured out my biggest problem with the new sw movies. No Han Solo! No self-depricating humor! It's all too serious, which makes it funnier than it should be.
"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."
