My dear darling favorite band...

We need to talk.
Now, now. Don't look like that. It's nothing too serious. You're still my number one favorite, and always will be.
It's just your latest greatest hits...what were you THINKING??
Yes, you know I really love the new songs. And, okay, you remembered Holy Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, fine. You made sure Until the End of the World was on here, despite the fact that its popularity was mostly in concert during the Zoo tv tour. What am I upset about? You left off Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses! You remixed things that were JUST FINE on their albums. Like Gone. You know how much I loved that song. You had no business messing about with it! No matter how many times you remix Discoteque, it's not going to improve. It's just not! Jokes over, honey. Sorry! And I'm afraid that you really just have to give up on The First Time. It's just...not a best. I hate to break it to you, but it's true!
Let's just not even get into Numb. You remixed Numb. How could you?
And I'm sorry, I know how proud you were of Miss Sarajevo, but technically, as a Passengers track, it should have been with the B-sides. And speaking of which, what's with all the remixes of regular hits as b-sides? Not cool. You didn't have any lack of b-sides to add in. You forgot Slow Dancing. The cover of Night and Day that I loved so very much. Satellite of Love. Holy Joe (which should have been on the Pop album to begin with and instead of Discoteque and Miami, but let's not get into that argument again.) And if Miss Sarajevo gets to be on the hit singles disc, Bono's duet with Sinatra should be with the B-sides at least. (However, if you couldn't get the rights from reprise, I understand.) AND so should be Larry & Adam's Mission Impossible Theme.
Really. You needed to think these things through. I know the first greatest hits set sold well, and you were all proud. And yes, technically it's a "Best of", which gives you a bit more latitude, but come on. You can't fool me. I know what this is, and you're only kidding yourself if you don't admit to it.
Oh, don't look like that. Come here. *hugs* Just because I'm annoyed with you doesn't mean I don't still love you. Just don't do it again! Talk to me next time!
