I didn't mean to tell you how to look/dress/act since i certainly wouldn't want someone telling me how to. Like stumbledhere, it was just the "oh, the necessities of a female existance." that set me off. I mean, i know obviously you didn't mean it literally, it's just that idea, that women have to look a certain way, is so dominant in our society that i wince anytime anyone perpetuates it. But like stumbledhere (sorry, i don't know her real name) said, "however you want to alter your appearance, you should -- if it makes you feel good to do it, then do it."
I just felt jumped on for what was an essentially sarcastic comment. I keep forgetting that sarcasm doesn't always carry over.
and I am SO TIRED of talking about this!!! Can we please move on? Please? And talk about more pleasant things, like how Dar Williams will be giving a FREE concert, July 30, in World Financial Center Plaza?
A free Dar concert? I am so there. I'm working until 9 the 29th, but i could totally get there the afternoon of the 30th. World Financial Center Plaza is in NYC, right? Maybe it could even be the beginning of an actual visit. But we can worry about that after London.

Date: 2002-06-08 12:47 pm (UTC)yes, WFC Plaza is downtown nyc, actually not terribly far from Ground Zero. But it's been fixed up, from what I hear.
and we will speak of this more after London. You never sent me your address...do you still want a postcard?
