24 Hour Party People was a LOT of fun. I think it lost its focus/momentum after Ian Curtis died, but it was still a lot of abstract fun.

And oh, Joy Division, Joy Division. My new love. You wonderful band you!! If Tom Waits's voice is the burning trail tequila leaves as it goes down your throat, Ian's voice is an ice cold Albany wind cutting through a too-light jacket. His despair is so palpable, and when paired with the bouncy backing track makes for a marvelous contradiction to listen to. Wonderful Catherine is making me a copy of their greatest hits. We went to the Library Bar after the movie, and I played "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on the jukebox, because it was stuck in my head and I was just so infatuated with it I had to hear it again. *sigh*

Note to self: tell your parents you will be home late, even if you are SURE that you told them several times previously. *sigh*

After dinner at Mama's (it's on 3rd Street b/t A&B. GO! The food was cheap and OUTSTANDING). We went to the movie. Then the bar, which I liked. Great Jukebox, not outrageously crowded/priced.

And whomever said that Vodka doesn't give you a hangover is a bloody liar, because my brain is trying to escape my skull, has been since I woke up this morning and won't give up. Which is probably why some asshole pulled an emergency break a few trains ahead of mine this morning, making me HALF AN HOUR LATE for work. *cursegrumblemumble* My last day. *sigh*

well, there's nothing to do, but I'll go ask anyway...

Vodka is not only nasty but it will kick your ass much of the following day. I recommend lots of heroin-strength coffee and cigarettes even if you aren't a smoker. Beer is much worse in the hangover category though. Ick, you have to be real careful if you want to keep your body from showing you all of it's anger for what you did to it the night before.

Thank you for the advice, but the problem is, I can't drink coffee!! For some reason, my body does not process caffene well, and I look/act/feel like I imagine someone who did too much cocaine does when I have it. If that wasn't bad enough, my sensitive stomach twists into a knot from the acid of the coffee. *sigh*. and I tried to smoke a cigarette, once, and my lungs felt like they were going to collapse after one pull. So I steer clear of those two. Alcohol is my only vice (until I find a man, heh heh). I only had 2 Vodka tonics last night!! Two! And yet, the headache of death.

(but you're right. I didn't drink enough water, hence the hangover. or sleep long enough. butowell.)

I had two smirnoff ices one night and woke up with a hangover, explain that. Sometimes it really doesn't take much. Mmmm water, yes drink lots and lots. It really is great.

Sublime? like the band? hmmm...

my problem is that some part of me wants to go out every night, but usually gets overruled by the other 95-98% of my body. That needs stupid stuff like rest and sleep and to not drink.

Yeah, like the band. Some of the bottles even have louie dog on them. And rest is for Sundays anyway, I feel like I am always missing out on something when I sleep so to me even sitting in front of this computer is good enough. *sob* Yes, I am a geek but everyone knows geeks are hot. ;)

lol. geeks rule! I know what you mean about wasting time, but sometimes I realize while out that the idea of going out was more fun than the actual time out. :P life can be funny that way.

a couple of cups of water + 2 advil (or your headache remedy of choice) right before bed after drinking = no hangover! hangovers are mostly dehydration anyway.

very true. I forgot to do that last night. Aparently my parents forgot/insisted I didn't tell them that we were going to a movie after dinner, got really worried but didn't call, and met me at the door when I got home at 12:30. *sigh*

I got hit with an almost overwhelming wave of nostalgia while watching 24 Hour Party People, and suddenly needed my record collection and a turntable. The record collection is in my mother's basement on the other side of the country, and I believe there's a turntable there as well but it doesn't work. *sigh*
