love, love will tear us apart, again

24 Hour Party People was a LOT of fun. I think it lost its focus/momentum after Ian Curtis died, but it was still a lot of abstract fun.
And oh, Joy Division, Joy Division. My new love. You wonderful band you!! If Tom Waits's voice is the burning trail tequila leaves as it goes down your throat, Ian's voice is an ice cold Albany wind cutting through a too-light jacket. His despair is so palpable, and when paired with the bouncy backing track makes for a marvelous contradiction to listen to. Wonderful Catherine is making me a copy of their greatest hits. We went to the Library Bar after the movie, and I played "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on the jukebox, because it was stuck in my head and I was just so infatuated with it I had to hear it again. *sigh*
Note to self: tell your parents you will be home late, even if you are SURE that you told them several times previously. *sigh*
After dinner at Mama's (it's on 3rd Street b/t A&B. GO! The food was cheap and OUTSTANDING). We went to the movie. Then the bar, which I liked. Great Jukebox, not outrageously crowded/priced.
And whomever said that Vodka doesn't give you a hangover is a bloody liar, because my brain is trying to escape my skull, has been since I woke up this morning and won't give up. Which is probably why some asshole pulled an emergency break a few trains ahead of mine this morning, making me HALF AN HOUR LATE for work. *cursegrumblemumble* My last day. *sigh*
well, there's nothing to do, but I'll go ask anyway...

Date: 2002-09-20 10:31 am (UTC)my problem is that some part of me wants to go out every night, but usually gets overruled by the other 95-98% of my body. That needs stupid stuff like rest and sleep and to not drink.
