I keep meaning to post and I haven't. So, I am posting now.

The vacation is going pretty well. I'm still not great at mastering that whole idea of rest or relaxation or not doing anything, but maybe someday that will happen for me.

So far this week:
made a trip to Costco on Monday - I procured several items, including (but not limited to) Holiday Cards, a pair of jeans, lettuce, compact fluorescent light bulbs, vitamins, olive oil, and razor blades.

Tuesday, my mom and I had a fantastic time playing Tim Gunn's Guide to Style dress shopping at Macy's. I went with the hopes of perhaps adding an additional fall/winter day dress to my wardrobe. I wound up with three. ::cough:: But that's all the sales rack's fault. And these dresses? Are awesome. I can't wait to wear them! We then had a lovely lunch at Stout, and decided on a whim to go and see Enchanted. Which was adorable and amazing and just made me feel all warm and happy inside (and made me laugh. A lot).

Today I had to get up ass early so that I could have something taken care of in the apartment, but it gave me an opportunity to catch up on a truly excellent episode of Supernatural, so that's fine with me. Then I treated myself to some sushi for lunch, and then went into the city (yes, in the snow) to do some browsing. I ended up getting a Christmas present and my comics, including the Buffy comic with the incredible Avengers theme cover. Two points:

1. [livejournal.com profile] leopard_lady: where does one procure a frame sized for a comic? I may like to hang this one.
2. [livejournal.com profile] alcestis : Forbidden Planet was sold out of the sodding Angel book! ::cries:: Remind me again of the title, and I'll see if can't get it sometime during my travels tomorrow.

Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] teany and I have an amazing day of ice skating and shopping and all sorts of other adventures on tap. So that'll be fun.

I've been having trouble remembering that this time of year is supposed to be fun and not stressful and crazy-making. It's been rough going. I'm permanently stressed about the fact that parties keep occurring at what seem to be the opposite ends of the Earth on the same night at the same time, and I can't be at all of them (this is really bothering me, too. Conflicting invitations shouldn't be Sophie's Choice, after all, and that's what they feel like.) I don't know what to buy for half the people on my list, and little, insignificant things are making me flip out. It's like that Blues Traveler song - "If this is feeling merry, how much longer must it last?"

Must be time for bed.
