okay, so convent garden is best kept at a distance, especially with things like Lush to spend money on. Seriously.
(oh Laura: Lush has something I didn't buy but still can: a powder called Bare Naked Lady that's all glittery. Do you want it? It's all rosy and didn't smell like your cup of tea at all, even though I got you lots of other nifty things.)
Last night I got brought along to Kate's slash dinner, where I met
ladymoonray,
lobelia321, fellow Buffy fan
dolores, and
gloriamundi who knows PNH and TNH of Tor fame!! We were very surprised to learn that we had real-life people an entire ocean apart in common.
Today Kate and I are off to the V&A and the Tate modern. I got to see much more of the touristy sights thanks to a lovely cab ride yesterday (long story - but the Tube breaks down about 400 times more often than the MTA. I'm really loathe to compliment the mta, but it doesn't close the subway at midnight and it has AIR CONDITIONING and things usually are running. unlike here.) I also saw a block in south kensington that I'm 95% sure was used in Notting Hill, but since we were on our way to dinner I didn't have my camera with me. Boo. But I saw Harrods, Buckingham Palace and several fountains from the cab window, and hopefully will see them up close & personal very soon.
so exciting. It's not enough time...not nearly enough. *sigh*
