I had applied to an ad I saw on hotjobs for a place called Sterling Publishing yesterday, for a publisher's assistant. The ad was a few days old, but I thought that since it was still up, it would be okay to submit it. I called to follow up today (because they didn't say 'no phone calls.' Apparently, over 700 people had applied on the FIRST DAY and the person selected starts tomorrow. *sigh*
But on the plus side, I submitted resumes to two agencies this morning, who each got back to me in under an hour to ask if we could schedule interviews ASAP. For perm positions. I'm *supposed* to start a month-long temp thing at my current agency on Monday, but I'm tired of them jerking me around on perm or temp-to-perm. If the new places can find me something, then well, goodbye to them.
The woman I spoke to at one of the Perm agencies understood my temping and 'trying to keep my options open.' *big sigh of relief* Are things looking up? Could it be?
Hopefully I'll be seeing Jeff again tomorrow after the interviews. Fun Fun.
