cue tumbleweeds

So far today my boss Laura (to be differentiated from my sister Laura) and I are the only people in. It's SOOO quiet. No one here 'cept me & my new White Stripes cd. Which I also listened to on the train. SO GOOD!!!

(a brief aside: The White Stripes don't strike me as purveyors of a 'new sound.' They're an old sound. They're very old-school blues for the most part. But that's just my own opinion.)

And as New York City digs itself out from that stupid storm, I'm here at work, and wondering if I'm seeing Amy tonight or if our dinner plans will be postponed YET again due to a disaster (the last time was b/c of the looming transit strike). So I'll call her at a more reasonable hour to those not working and see. Also, must find out what's going on with Friday's spades game.

My boss Laura just gave me MORE chocolate. I wonder if the Children's Legal department have a plot to fatten me up and stuff me in an oven.
