Returning after the blackout
Aug. 18th, 2003 12:48 pmOne of the other assistants just walked past my desk and commented that it seems as though we never left after Thursday. I feel like I've been gone somewhere between a week and a few hours. It's all crazy craziness I tell you. It does feel strange to be back here. Everyone spent most of the morning swapping 'how I got home' stories. Thankfully, the 8 1/2 months pregnant coworker got home to Westchester safely - as a few of the westchesterites had banded together to get home, come hell or high water.
I keep going over the events of thursday in my head, wondering what I could have done differently. I know it's silly, but I still am trying to figure out what I'd like to keep around in case of a future emergency, not to mention things that I would have killed for Thursday and Friday. So far I have a small list.
( the list )
I still feel out of sorts and out of sync. I'm hoping that by the time the Something Corporate/ 311 show rolls around tomorrow, I'll feel more like me again. I'm so drained, and have a fair amount of work to do over the next two days, before my vacation starts on Wednesday.
Okay. Now I'm going to get myself a chocolate chip cookie, and then get back to work.
