offbalance: (buttercup pain by isis grey)
I had to say something about this, because frankly I'm still pissed off about a great many things.

I'm not pissed about the fact that Rocket pitched an amazing game and that we won. Or that Jeter hit a home run, and Matsui a base hit.

What AM I pissed about? Let's see...

Garcia getting drilled by that fucker Pedro Martinez. And then Martinez having the nerve to inform Posada that he'll hit him in the temple at his next at-bat. Classy.

Manny Ramirez's diva fit about a pitch that was nowhere NEAR his head, and storming the mound.

And then there's the part that still makes me see red:

32-year-old Pedro Martinez throwing 72-year-old Don Zimmer TO THE GROUND!!! Claimed he thought he was in danger. Riiight. A 72-year-old man with a STEEL PLATE in his head (he was hit in the head by a pitch during his career and spent 13 days in a coma) poses a great big threat. Zim is in the hospital tonight for observation. Martinez will end up in the hospital if he ever crosses my path. Asshat!!

[livejournal.com profile] quasisonic : and now for his next trick, [Martinez] will beat up Santa Claus.

But Clemens kept his cool, and pitched a great game. And I don't think any of the guys saw the incident, because I can think of a couple (especially if this had happened during the regular season) that probably would have beaten the shit out of Martinez for doing that to Zimmer. Bastard.

Then the thing in the bullpen - apparently some asshole Fenway groundskeeper spent the game hassling the bullpen, and when Jeff Nelson asked him why he didn't go and root for the red sox by THEIR bullpen, he jumped in and tried to jump Nelson. So a melee ensued, Garcia cut his hand. Now Boston police want to charge two yankees with assault. (Because THAT makes sense).

Are they so desperate to win that they'd sink this low? It's really pathetic. Because if you've got the goods, you don't need this bullshit circus. It's disgusting.
