Six Feet Under's Krause to Star in After the Fall

"Six Feet Under star Peter Krause is set to make his Broadway debut as Quentin, the troubled writer at the center of Arthur Miller's After the Fall. The Roundabout Theatre Company revival of the play, directed by Michael Mayer, will to begin performances at the American Airlines Theater on June 25 (a change from the previously announced June 11 start date), according to a production spokesperson.

Krause studied at New York University in the Master of Fine Arts Acting Program. His Gotham theatrical credits while there include mountings of Macbeth, Uncle Vanya and Arms and the Man. Soon after graduating from school, he made his TV debut as a regular on Carol Burnett's hit variety show Carol and Company. Following a string of guest appearances, Krause landed a starring role in the acclaimed series Sports Night, which ran from 1998-2000. He is now best known for playing funeral home owner Nate Fisher in the acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under. For his performance in the drama, Krause has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards.

After The Fall's only previous Broadway incarnation opened at ANTA Washington Square Theatre on January 23, 1964 and ran a total of 208 performances before closing. That production, directed by Elia Kazan, starred Jason Robards Jr. as Quentin, a 40-year-old lawyer who painfully revisits his disastrous relationships with women, and Barbara Loden, who won a Tony Award for her featured work as Quentin's second wife, Maggie. Although no casting has been announced for Maggie, Broadway.com previously reported Oscar winner Hilary Swank was in negotiations to play the role." -- Broadway.com
