Mental Giants

It never fails to flabbergast me when I discover just how STUPID some allegedly smart people can be.

I'm the water bitch in my office. When we run out of the bottles, I call downstairs to ask for more. We're down to our last bottle today, so I called, only to be informed that my building is waiting for a delivery, and had no additional bottles. So, not wanting the constant stream of well-meaning harassers to inform me of what I already know, I placed the following note on the cooler:

"Call Placed 4/1/2004 at 9:15 am. Building is out of water, ET of Delivery is unknown."

Simple, right? Apparently not. Some of the mental giants on my floor has taken this to mean that there is no water left in the cooler at all, and one member of the Not-So-Bright Brigade told me that the note was 'misleading.' How, exactly? You can clearly see that there is water in the cooler if you, I don't know, LOOK AT IT. Most of the other people on the floor have had no problem with this concept, but apparently it's too much for some.

But at least Boss L and I just had a good giggle about it. :D

I just got MAJOR kudos handed down to me (via email) from Uberboss. The email was copied to several other bigwigs. Boss L rightfully shares in such praise, but praise is still praise!!

And now, to celebrate, I will dance the running man while screaming "whose house?" sit here and quietly beam to myself.
