Absolutely Cuckoo
May. 20th, 2004 03:57 pmI'm really zippy today. Don't ask me why, I haven't the faintest idea. Been in the weirdest frame of mind, too. *shrug*
I'm really starting to have a fondness for the 58th Street branch of the NYPL. Being so close to the Donnell has its distinct advantages, but there's something about this nifty little library, only one level, with its neatly organized low shelves and handy little sci-fi section that I just really find endearing. Plus, it's tucked into this little out-of-the-way corner, and seems to have a good selection of things that I'm looking for. Today I went over to return the book I had been reading and wound up leaving with two more (doh!). First up is Henry Miller's Tropic of Capricorn. I've never read Tropic of Cancer, but if I like this I may just - this one is about Brooklyn in the 1920s, so I was powerless to resist.
Am VERY excited about seeing the Magnetic Fields and
Beyza tonight, which should be fun. Sadly, attempted dinner plans with
blergeatkitty fell through, but another time.
And congrats to
whtegrlwthehair's Stacey, upon graduating from Columbia with her MFA yesterday! wooo! *confetti*
Oooh - Bryant Park just announced its summer film series!!! And they really did pick some great ones this year, I have to say. I'd see anything on that list with the exception of Cat Ballou. (wtf is that even DOING there?)
Okay, back to work now. Although there's really no compulsion to leave on time today...
