Yesterday was a loverly day at the ballpark, as is usually the case when the Yankees win. We had really cool seats (Tier level, but there was a birds-eye-view of home plate). It was pretty high up, though - [livejournal.com profile] trebleahead joked that his sherpa died on the way up to our section (he had fancy field-level seats.) They serve beer in the other parts of the stadium. It's a glorious thing! Afterwards, [livejournal.com profile] greensward, Non-LJ Lisa, her bf Andy, and I ventured down to San Genaro for a look around, eventually meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] teany. I had some decent ravioli and some of Non-LJ Lisa (damn, that name is popular!)'s mozzarella sticks. I also finally got to try a mozzarepa.

I was slightly disappointed. While the arepa part was lovely corn masa goodness, the mozzarella was rubbery and tasteless. I may have to try another someday to see where [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty's great love of them stems from. We also found these adorable mini cannoli's outside of Ferraras. The cream was better than the shell, but I didn't mind.

Also at Ferraras - live entertainment, courtesy of one Michael Rosselli, performing a selection of Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and others. It was so delightfully camp that I wanted to build a bonfire and roast marshmallows. He was enthusiastic and had a decent voice (complete with a 'howyadoin' accent that you couldn't cut with a chain saw), and a sign advertised that he performs in Ferrarras outdoor garden Monday (wait for it) TRU Friday. No, that's not a typo. Seriously, it made the festival for me, and I highly reccomend checking that bit of it out, if you can.

And while we're on the subject, as promised, here are the results for the guilty pleasure song poll.
