First of all, I'd like to wish a very very happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] chantellecam & [livejournal.com profile] glitterrayne, both celebrating today. I'd also like to wish a belated happy to [livejournal.com profile] faithtastic, who celebrated on Friday, and a future one to [livejournal.com profile] thatpr0nguy, who celebrates tomorrow.

Last night I met the gang to celebrate [livejournal.com profile] thatpr0nguy's birthday and indulge in all-you-can-eat sushi after running the hell uptown from my last bellydance class before thanksgiving. I have to confess that I didn't stuff myself to the point of exploding the way some others did, due to severe timidity on my part, and intend to amend that behavior in the future. (Not to mention the fact that I was severely out of it when I arrived, probably from the adrenaline level crashing). Anyway, lots of fun was had. Birthday Boy and [livejournal.com profile] laughingirl had attended the U2 concert earlier in the day (still figuring out why I didn't call in notsick yesterday, it seemed like the right thing to do at the time) . We ate half the ocean, and then stuck a candle in a sliced orange to sing. Good times.

Took the Q home with [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty, [livejournal.com profile] tacologic, and [livejournal.com profile] alcestis, quoting Wayne's World to the point where Adam & Abby had to switch to another train. As she went to hug Blerg goodbye, a flailing fist somehow made contact with the area between my eyes. I know (mainly from the look on her face) that it wasn't intentional, and the whole thing was extremely funny, but I must say: don't piss this woman off.
If she punches like that without intending to, then I really don't ever want to be on the receiving end of an intentional right hook from her, and neither do you.

Other than that, I am simply counting down the seconds until it's time for lunch, so I can run over to Tower and acquire the cd I've been eagerly waiting for. I quiver in an-ti-ci---------pation.

So far, so good. I am pleased. It's similar in style to All that You Can't Leave Behind, but that's a good thing, imho. (And what happened to the old days when the album titles were short? Like Boy. War. Achtung Baby. Zooropa. Think it over.)

Bono's still got it. Third song in and he already has me ready to cry. Bastard.

I ended up not getting the special edition. I grabbed a regular one by accident and didn't realize, and frankly after looking up on Amazon what the special edition contained (not much, imho), I'm not kicking myself for not realizing until I opened the packaging. I would have liked to see the videos & stuff it contained, but to be honest, I only have so much space, time & money these days, so it's no great loss. I did get the special edition of the Franz Ferdinand album - mainly because the 'bonus' disc contains new songs (the U2 disc was some videos and an interview - something I'd say I'd devote time to watching but probably wouldn't.)

Happy day. :) Oh, and I finally got myself a U2 icon. If you can't read it, all it has are lyrics from "The Fly," one of my favorites.

Also: ahahahahahhaahaaaaa
