Birth Days
Feb. 1st, 2006 01:12 pmFirst of all, a big Happy Birthday to my girl
nemesisbecoming, Moderatress Extrodinaire of
newyorkers and all-around cool chickie. Hope it's a great one!
Secondly, today is also a big day - for me. Today I am officially announcing the launch of my non-LJ blog, Typewritten Teacup. I'd been kicking around the idea of a more formal blog for awhile, if only to have somewhere to point those who'd like a sample of my writing, something that doesn't include polls, quizzes and the incoherent rants on inconsequential matters. Hopefully, this will be the opposite. So far, there are two posts on there - the first was a test that sort of took on a life of its own, the second something I wrote today.
What finally lit a fire under my ass to do this is the fact that I will be reading at Barbes on March 5. That's right! I will be up in front of an audience, reading my work. In public. So, I figured that its as good a time as any to kick myself in the ass and start writing essays again. I won't be updating it as often as my dear, darling LJ (which is going nowhere, promise) - I just wanted to have something separate from this place for deeper thoughts. I invite all my friends and loyal readers to check both out. The Barbes series, run by the fabulous
blergeatkitty, is every first and third Sunday at 6pm. Including March 5.
And now, I'm going to get myself some lunch. Yesterday I realized that I'd overdone salads to the point where the word alone was enough to make me gag. Sandwiches, too. So I'm going out for something, anything else. Possibly Chinese. We'll see.
