offbalance: (Bjork by this is yesterday)
For once, I actually wind up getting sick at a time where I don't mind it so much.

I'd been walking around feeling crappish since the weekend, I just thought it was fatigue and some other non-health factors. But no.

After a nearly disastrous Pilates class on Tuesday, things just got progressively worse. Wonton soup for dinner, and my throat continuing to swell up to painful proportions. In fact, the entire right side of my throat, from the ear to the collarbone, was in searing pain. Called out of work yesterday, when it took me half an hour to get out of bed just to get up to get the damn phone.

According to the doctor? It's the flu.

Me: The flu? That's it?!
Him: Well, yes. There are some rather nasty strains out right now, and until recently they've avoided New York. You probably won't have an extreme case since you've gotten the flu shot, but that doesn't mean you would avoid it entirely. All it means is that you won't have the 103 fever and serious intestinal distress usually associated with a flu. But you're still going to be a bit uncomfortable."

If this is uncomfortable, kids, I'd hate to see really crappy. I wonder if this is what [livejournal.com profile] aliasa has been fighting with, honestly. I feel like death on toast. (and according to [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic, I look like it, too.)

I'm going to relax and let the parents continue taking care of me, watch as much tv as I can stand, and not tax myself too much.
