Nov. 26th, 2006 11:46 pmThe above is a quote from what was my absolute favorite scene in this week's Grey's Anatomy. I just feel like it should be quoted.
I was supposed to spend part of today with Meg - we talked about hitting Uniqlo before the Wollman Rink, but alas, it was not to be. I spent the entire day sick as a damn dog in bed. I'm pretty sure it started last night, I was feeling off and nauseated the entire time, and couldn't put my finger on why, which was a shame. It was an otherwise lovely evening, we had dinner at the Heights Cafe, which I'm totally taking
zyll too next time she visits, it reminds me so much of Rosemary's in Las Vegas, and we both seriously loved that place. Despite a lovely meal and lovely company (Meg, Meg's boyfriend Pough, her friend Iseult [visiting from Holland], and Meg's friend Michelle and her husband Mike), I felt ill. After dinner, we were joined by Pough's roommates, and I still felt ill.
Long story short, I started getting sick after I arrived home despite not drinking all that much, and continued to be sick for a large portion of today. It's not often that I lay in bed and watch the room spin, but I got to do that for most of this morning. And the barfing, which is always awesome, really. Puck and
quasisonic need to be singled out for their sheer awesomeness, though, because they sprung to action in taking care of me, making sure I was stocked with gatorade and other essentials. Puck even made this really awesome chicken soup from scratch, the one basically solid thing I've managed to keep down today. (And yet I still keep dry heaving. Body? You're so on probation, it isn't funny).
I watched this week's House and Top Chef, in addition to the movie I've had from Netflix for two weeks and Singin' in the Rain (which was on TCM. Score!) I can't decide if I feel poorly enough to call out of work tomorrow or not, I guess the morning will dictate that. I've trying a variety of methods to test myself, but nothing is proving or disproving beyond a shadow how I feel. We'll see. Blah.
I meant to post who and what I'm thankful for, but I hope those people know that I'm thankful for them, and that I tell them enough on a daily basis. I thought about being bratty and contrary and posting about what I'm not thankful for, but I decided it was in poor taste. If I don't end up soldiering to work tomorrow and provided I can sit up at the computer, I may post some kind of update amidst an impromptu Dexter marathon. (I'm sooo far behind at this point, but I don't care - it's a great show, and I can't wait to watch more of it.)
