This is so sad.

So, one of my usual job responsibilities is making sure that royalties has all the correct information for payees on file, and I frequently have to deal with estates and the families of the Authors departed. Usually it's fine, and everyone is very nice, and it's no trouble.

One of the Author Widows I've been dealing with is the sweetest woman, and has had no problem with providing me with any and all information and paperwork I need. She left me a message to confirm something earlier, and I just called her back, and got the machine.

Her husband (who died about a year or so ago) was still the voice on the message.

It took me a minute to start speaking after the beep, as I got a little choked up by this. I just found it so sweet and so sad. I wonder if she plays it every so often to hear his voice. I wonder if their (grown) children call to listen to it.

Just a Monday otherwise.
