Can sneezing time be over now?
Oct. 5th, 2007 03:57 pmMany, many thanks to
antheia and her lovely roommate
cathybites for hosting Night of a Thousand Fangirls last night. Watching the SPN premiere in a roomful of squeeing (but quiet when there's talking onscreen) fans is superbly excellent. Particularly for the moments where we sighed "Oh, Dean." in unison. It was made of awesome. It made me think about hosting a viewing myself at some point. I may post a separate post of TV squee (for discussion of things Ugly Betty as well as SPN) later.
Also filling me with awesome fangirl squee is the fact that today Gothamist has an interview with Ira Glass. Ever since Meg introduced me to This American Life, I've been hooked, and I have a complete and total nerdcrush on its host, the intrepid Mr. Glass. Is it the voice? The glasses? The suave, yet snarky commentating on a wide range of topics? I don't know. But I fell hard during the episode "What I learned from TV," when he told of how he and his wife loved to watch The O.C., and his total and complete delight of having This American Life name-checked during an episode (they played a clip). His description of his reaction was so cute and dorky I was a goner. According to the article, the show moved from Chicago to NY so they can also film the TV show. If he spoke to me? I'd turn into a total sixth grader with a crush. Which is fine, because, that's what I am, really.
Things that are not awesome: coming down from the worst allergy attack I've had in years. I know that it's allergies and not a cold, because when I have a cold, my face, eyes and throat do not itch. The air is not poison when I have a cold. In fact, the whole business is far more mellow than what I've been dealing with the last 24 hours. I took my second zyrtec around 11:30 and it's sort of helping.
Can't wait for this day to be done. I'm looking forward to a nice, three-day weekend of friends, fun, dvr time, and attending a YANKEE PLAYOFF GAME. (big thanks to
trebleahead for making that last one happen).
