I actually had regular English Breakfast Tea this morning in an effort to kick-start my brain. So far, this attempt has been entirely futile.

So, good weekend. Lemme summup:

Friday night I met up with [livejournal.com profile] j_bkl and [livejournal.com profile] whtegrlwthehair for dinner at Shake Shack, some wandering about, and finally some tea at Saint's Alp Tea House. I had no idea that they had snacks there - I am definitely planning a return visit. Then [livejournal.com profile] whtegrlwthehair headed home and [livejournal.com profile] j_bkl and I headed to the 11th Street Bar for New Orleans Girl's bday. Good times were had by all. I loved the bar. Loved. I have to do some Saturday-night recon, but I may have found a site for next year's bday party. Not sure yet, but it's a distinct possibility.

Saturday I saw J off to work and then headed back to the apartment. Caught up on Ugly Betty (omg) and Supernatural (OMFG) and then caught up with [livejournal.com profile] alcestis for a few hours. We tried a new sushi place's lunch special (yum), and Oko's yogurt (very good). After that, I met up with J for dinner and a showing of Rachel Getting Married. Which was kind of like watching a Lifetime Original Movie done in the style of your typical independent feature. Great cast did what they could with the limited material, but this is hardly one for the ages.

Sunday he and I rose early and ventured to Red Hook. Not for Mexican delights at the ballfields, nor for produce at Fairway. We went to Ikea. Though fun at first, after awhile the sprawling temple of commerce just left me dizzy, and I literally had to sit with my head between my knees to get my bearings again. Same thing happened on my first trip to Costco. I don't know what it is about big box stores, but they just overwhelm me. It wasn't crowded, but it was huge. Hell, I did fine later on when we ventured to Soho do to some shopping and meet up with friends. Bizarre. I also got to try the yogurt at 40 Carrots, which was really good, and had dinner at The Diner on 14th and 9th (also good) We had a lovely evening at a friend's bday party at a wine bar. Good times.

But now it's morning, I feel like I barely slept, and frigging Outlook 2007 keeps freezing. I'm going to restart my computer now, because usually that's the first thing IT tells you to do. What I really need is 2003 back, but I already asked, and they already said no. *sigh*

More when I'm awake. I just can't seem to make myself be insightful yet. Ah well.
