offbalance: (SPN - Blues Brothers)
I've been a happy little nerd girl of late. As many of you know, I've been watching the "new" Doctor Who (the Russell T. Davies reboot. I'm still on the 10th doctor), and I'm nearly finished with Season 3. I am supposed to get Captain Jack Harkness back. Which needs to happen now, damn it. And I'm a little disappointed that they created this amazing character in Martha and then really didn't give her anything too interesting to do (or, that Rose "shopgirl" Tyler could have done. She's a doctor,FFS!) . That rant aside, the fun part has been not just enjoying a really awesome sci-fi show, but getting to fangirl with other Who fans about it.

Plus, there are people all around me watching Buffy, Angel, and Supernatural for the first time, so naturally, I am starting to really want to go back and re-watch all of those shows as well. Especially Supernatural after this weekend, and now that I've started building the podcast. There is SO MUCH music on that show. So much. Mostly I'm just thrilled and flabbergasted that a show can be on for four seasons and be pretty much embedded under the radar, and then suddenly, in its fifth and supposedly final season, it catches some of that shiny zeitgeist and has people talking. I'm so pleased to have this show go from something I could only discuss with 1 or 2 people to something tons of people I know watch and love. It makes my little geek heart sing. JOIN THE FOLD, CHILDREN!

Plus, there are so many other shows to be excited about: True Blood. Burn Notice. Treme . In Plain Sight . Royal Pains. The Good Guys. TV is really kicking ass right now, and movies are sucking it.
